Last Week’s Half Marathon Training and Workouts Recap (2/23-3/1)

neon (8)Last week was a great week! I finished the two month long Insanity Max:30 program and had my first race of 2015. Half Marathon training is going well too. This is what was planned on the MyAsics app:IMG_2959

Here’s what I did last week:

Monday – Day 50 of Insanity Max:30 -Max Out Cardio. Here’s what I posted on FB that has some video clips:

Tuesday – Ran three miles.

Then did Max Out Power.

Wednesday – Day 52 of Insanity Max:30 – Max Out Sweat.

Thursday – Ran 8.5 miles.

Also, did Max Out Strength.

Friday – Last day of Insanity Max:30 – Friday Fight Round 2! Friday Fight Round 2 is definitely the hardest workout in the program. I maxed out at 6:33, just a 6 sec improvement. This program really pushed me and I will definitely continue to do more workouts from it even though I’ve finished the two month program.Saturday – Ran the Mommathon 5k, a local race put on my Mom’s Run This Town group and Uberthons. PR’d…woohoo! Race recap coming soon.
Sunday – 11 mile run. I wasn’t able to run it as fast as the MyAsics app said after it recalculated paces, but it was still fast for me. 😛 They are just guideline paces.

How did your week go? Happy first week of March!

Last Week’s Half Marathon Training Workouts Recap (2/16-2/22)

neon (7)This has been a pretty good week. I ended the week with an eleven mile run at race pace, and I felt great. It was my longest run so far this year and fastest 11-miler. The My Asics App changed things around a little after seeing I was running faster than expected. Now it seems even more challenging, since it wanted me to run a 8:14 pace today, and I managed 8:25, which is really good for me. I think that’s about what it had before the app recalculated and made the adjustments. Here’s what the My Asics had scheduled for this week:IMG_2846I’m also continuing with Insanity Max:30. It’s been tough but I think it’s really helped build my fitness level. I feel stronger and I think it’s helped with my endurance too. I felt pretty strong on my 11 miler. I can’t believe there’s only one week left of the program. Anyway, here’s what I did this week:

Monday: Running rest day. I did day 43 of Insanity Max:30 – Max Out Cardio. I maxed out at 9:38, a minute and four seconds improvement!IMG_2843

Tuesday: Ran three miles. IMG_2858

Then did Max Out Power.

Wednesday: Ran 8.5 miles

IMG_2870

Then got Max Out Sweat done.

Thursday: Got day 46 of Insanity Max:30 – Max Out Strength done.

Friday: Ran 3 miles on the treadmill and then did Max:30 Friday Fright Round 2. The side to side floor hops are still a killer. I maxed out at 6:27, a 5 sec improvement.

Saturday: Rest Day.

Sunday: Ran 11 miles. Felt great!

Last Week’s Workouts Recap (12/22-12/28)

This past week started off great! It was Christmas vacation time and we travelled up to my parent’s place to spend the Holidays. It was nice because I got to workout and run with my sister from New Jersey who also came for the Holidays. I continued with the Runner’s World Run Streak but felt sick the last couple of days. Here’s how my week went:

Monday – Ran a mile with my sis for day 26 of the #RWRunStreak and then we all tried Insanity Max:30 Cardio for the first time. That was fun! I maxed out at 16:27.

Tuesday – I had a nice three mile run with my sis. It’s nice to have someone run with you. Not just for the awesome company but because they can take your pic while running. 🙂

Wednesday – Had a great Christmas Eve run, and ran five miles!

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/77e/68168024/files/2014/12/img_1494.jpg

Thursday – I continued the streak and ran a mile on Christmas with my sis.

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/77e/68168024/files/2014/12/img_1589.jpg

Friday – I just ran a mile to continue the streak./home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/77e/68168024/files/2014/12/img_1633.jpg

Saturday – I woke up with a headache and ran a mile again to continue the streak./home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/77e/68168024/files/2014/12/img_1652.jpg

Sunday, I felt a bit worse but wanted to try to run five miles. I was breathing heavily after the first mile and decided that was not going to happen so I decided to do three miles. I’m hoping whatever I have is gone soon. I’m coughing and still have a little headache. Something is going around because my husband and son had fevers as well as one of my sister’s kids. My temp was a little elevated but luckily not that hot. Hopefully everyone feels better tomorrow. I’m almost done with the run streak. Day 32 of 36 day done!

It was another pretty good week! I’m still doing the Runner’s World Run Streak and I’m also continuing with Insanity the Asylum. I’m almost finished with it…woohoo :). It’s a tough program but I can feel myself getting stronger. After Asylum, I’ll be starting Insanity Max: 30 and training for a half marathon. We’ll see how that goes.

Monday started off with a three mile run, day 12 of the running streak. Afterwards I did Insanity the Asylum Back to Core with my hubby.

Last Week’s Workouts Recap (11/17-11/23)

I had a pretty good week of workouts. This was my second week of Insanity the Asylum and it’s going well. The workouts are tough but I always push through and do what I can. On Friday, I got the awesome news that I was finally matched with an IRUN4 buddy. He’s the cutest 11 month old boy, and his name is Caysen. He was diagnosed with Down Syndrome a week after he was born. I’m happy and honored to run for him. 🙂 On to the workouts:

Monday was Day 8 of Insanity the Asylum – Back to Core workout. This one gives a great back workout. I love it when my four year old jumps in at times and works out with me! He does pretty good too!

IMG_0016.JPG

Tuesday was Game Day. We swapped this one instead of Vertical Plyo since it fit our schedule better since it’s so long. This one’s a great workout. It focuses on different sports and you’ll definitely get your sweat on!

IMG_0045.JPG

Here’s a video preview of Game Day:

Wednesday was Relief – a great stretch routine.

IMG_0085.JPG

Thursday was Vertical Plyo. This one’s really tough! I managed to do a few plyo pushups this time. 😛IMG_0109.JPG

Friday was the Back to Core workout again.
IMG_0122.JPG

Saturday was the Strength workout. I was courageous to up my weight usage and used 10 lbs instead of 8 lbs and I did pretty well. I also felt motivated to run a mile for my IRUN4 buddy, Caysen. It was my first run for him. 🙂

IMG_0191.JPG

Sunday – I decided to run 5 miles and then did Day 15 of Insanity the Asylum – Relief. Felt good to do a stretch routine!IMG_0226.JPGHow’d your week go? Hope you have a good one!!

Last Week’s Workouts Recap – Started Insanity the Asylum (11/10-11/16)

I’ve started Shaun T’s Insanity the Asylum Workout Program and OMG it’s tough! I’m happy it’s only 30 days haha. All the workouts so far are hard but a great challenge. If I keep it up, I should be in tip top shape. I still might go for a run here and there, especially since I will be getting my IRun4 buddy really soon. On Saturday’s official waiting list, I was number 57! So close!

On to the workouts…on Monday, Day 1 was Speed and Agility. This was the first time using an agility ladder and I thought it was fun.
IMG_9880.JPG

Here’s a video preview of Speed & Agility:

I also refreshed with resource Natural Spring Water. It’s very refreshing water during and after the workout. Thanks Influenster for letting me test the product! It tasted great.

Tuesday, day 2 was Strength. My shoulders were sore but got through the workout.

Here’s video preview of Strength:

Wednesday, day 3 was Back to Core. This one really works your back. I was really sore from the previous workouts.

IMG_9920.JPG

Here’s a video preview of Back to Core:

Thursday, day 4 was Vertical Plyo. OMG this is the hardest one so far! I was still sore so I didn’t even attempt the Plyo push-ups lol. I did what I could.
IMG_9955.JPG

Here’s a video preview of Vertical Plyo:

Friday, day 5 was a much needed Rest Day!
IMG_9962.JPG

Saturday, day 6 was Speed & Agility again. Here I’m doing a much needed stretch during cool down.IMG_9980.JPG

Sunday, day 7 was Strength. I’m happy to say I’m no longer sore, but I might be tomorrow lol.IMG_0003.JPG

Shaun T’s INSANITY MAX:30 coming in December

I’m excited for Shaun T’s next program coming out in December called INSANITY MAX:30. This one looks intense! I did Insanity a while ago and loved it! It was a great way to get back in shape after my first kiddo. One of the reason’s I haven’t got back to Insanity was because of how much longer the workouts are compared to like Focus T25 or P90X3. Many of the workouts were close to an hour long. Now Insanity is back and workouts in Max:30 are only 30 mins. I love that!

Shaun T has developed 150 new cardio and strength moves that will make you push harder and dig deeper than ever before to get the best body of your life in just 60 days. You’ll get killer cardio and tabata strength workouts. There’s no equipment needed and a modifier in every workout so anyone can push to their MAX. It’s not about “getting through” all 30 minutes, it’s about going as hard as possible, for as long as possible, until becoming “MAXED OUT” (i.e. until taking the first rest and/or breaking proper form).

insanitymax30

I can’t wait to try this program. It will be coming out in the middle of December.
