Last Week’s Workouts Recap and Weekly Wrap (12/21-12/27)

Christmas week seemed to go by fast. It was a fun and busy week. I ran at least a mile each day for the Runner’s World Run Streak. Sunday marked day 32, so five more days left. ūüôā Here’s what I did last week:

Monday – Ran 3 morning rainy miles.¬†Tuesday – Ran a mile to continue the run streak.Wednesday – Worked out with the hubby, which was nice. It’s been a while since we worked out together. 21 Day Fix Extreme – The Fix Challenge was a tough but good one! ¬†I also ran a mile to continue the run streak. ¬†

Thursday РRan a nice 4 miles.Friday РRan a Christmas mile for day 30 of the #RWRunStreak.  Saturday РRan 3 miles.

Sunday – Ran 1o miles. It was nice to have the day off and get a good long run in, since I usually work Sundays.

I ran 23 miles last week. So I think it was a pretty good week. Wednesday, Christmas Eve was when all the fun began. I took the day off since we had family coming later in the day. We went and saw an early showing of Star Wars, The Force Awakens. It was awesome!

On Christmas Day, the kiddos were up early and excited to see what Santa brought them.

They enjoyed playing with their gifts. The play doh from Grandma and Grandpa was great. My youngest made the two minions in the middle, which I thought was pretty good.

We played Star Wars Monopoly. It was beginner’s luck for my 5 year old since he won.

The day after Christmas, my in-laws wanted to see Star Wars: The Force Awakens so we saw it again.

We also braved the mall and went shopping.

Today we went to the Factory Outlet Stores, where the kiddos always enjoy the tree house they have there. My kiddos are so into Star Wars right now.

Well, hope you had a Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays!
How’d your week go? Are you a Star Wars fan? Any plans New Year’s? Have a Happy New Year!

Last week¬†was a busy week with¬†work, running errands to get ready for Christmas and all, and¬†runs/workouts. I managed to get 17 miles of running. I’m still doing the Runner’s World Run Streak and Sunday marked day 26. There’s just twelve¬†more days to go until New Year’s Day! Here’s what last weeks runs/workouts looked like:

Monday – Ran a mile on the treadmilll.Tuesday – I didn’t feel like getting out of bed but ran a morning mile to continue the #RWRunStreak.

Wednesday – I ran my 5k virtual race from Running On the Wall. I hadn’t run a 5k in a while and wanted to see how fast I could go so I ran it fast. I ran my fastest 5k! ūüôā

Thursday – I did the Long and Lean BOSU DVD workout which is a yoga and pilates routine. I liked it!I also got my mile in to continue the #RWRunStreak.Friday – I only had time for 3 miles before having to pick up the kiddo from preschool.Saturday – Ran 7 treadmill miles. I also got some burpees, squats and push-ups in for a video promoting the Mommathon race fitness challenge. I did this race and fitness challenge last year and it was fun! If you’re in the PDX area you have to come do this one! ūüôā

Sunday – Ran a mile to continue the run streak.

So workout wise, it was ok. Just happy I’m doing something active each day and at least got a mile in for the run streak each day. I found out on Wednesday that I’m a nuun ambassador for 2016. I’m so happy to be a part of the nuun family. Love nuun! I’ve been using it on my long runs as well as races in my simple hydration water bottle.

My youngest also got his purple belt. Look how happy he is. ūüôāHe surprised me with his push-ups during his private belt test.

We did some shopping and finished off with with some Bubble Tea.

How’d your week go? Are you excited for Christmas? Happy Holidays!

Monday РI started off doing Insanity Max 30: Tabata Power. I woke up late and only got 18 minutes of the 30 minute workout because I wanted to get my mile in before work too. 18 minutes was better than nothing.

Last Week’s Workouts Recap and Weekly Wrap (11/30-12/6)

Last Monday ended the month of November, and I finished the month with 102 miles. Woohoo! I reached my 100 mile goal. I’m still doing the Runner’s World Holiday Run Streak. Sunday marked day 11 of the streak. I’d say it was a good week of workouts. I ran 22 miles and did some cross training. Here’s what I did:
Monday РRan 1 mile and then did some yoga from P90X3.  Tuesday РRan 3 morning treadmill miles.Wednesday РRan the virtual #EarnYourTurkey 5 miler from Running on the Wall and had a good fast run. Always earned, never given is a great saying. I really loved how this virtual race came with a medal holder! Such awesome swag!
Thursday – I tried 21 Day Fix Extreme Dirty 30 workout. My little guy joined in for a little bit. This was a tough one and I liked how it used weights. I was sore the next day.I also ran a mile to continue the run streak.
Friday РI ran a nice 5 miler while the kiddos were in school.  Saturday РGot 7 afternoon miles on the treadmill.
Sunday РRan one mile to continue the streak.
A fun thing my kiddos did this weekend was go to the Holiday Stackers Workshop for Kids at Home Depot. I love how they have this free activity for kids to do. This was my first time going to the Home Depot workshop.¬†Lowes has a similar program. I like how they were able to¬†use paint to decorate the stand for the blocks. The kiddos enjoyed it. I’ve already signed them up for the next event in January, which is a Kung Fu Panda 3 Spinning Box one.

We also went to my kiddo’s elementary school for their holiday bazaar and book sale. I ended up buying some books.
How’d your week go? Any races coming up?

Last Week’s Workout Recap (11/23-11/29)

It’s the end of November. Time is flying. I’m still getting over the cold I had. I just have a little cough left. Thanksgiving marked the beginning of the Runner’s World Run Streak. I’m doing it again this year and am on day 4 so far. Here’s what I did last week:

Monday – 2¬†morning¬†treadmill miles.Tuesday – I overslept and didn’t have time to run before work. I got first break for work and ran 3 miles on the treadmill.Wednesday – 3 morning treadmill miles.Thursday – 4 Thanksgiving miles to start the #RWRunStreak. ¬†Friday – 5 miles on the Burke Gilman Trail.
Saturday РRan 3.7 miles in Kirkland.  Sunday РNice 6 miles on the Burke Gilman Trail.
I ended up with 26.76 miles for the¬†week. I wasn’t able to get any cross training in though. I’m planning on changing that this week. It was nice to be able to run outside four days in a row. Also, I loved running on the Burke Gilman Trail and in Kirkland.

It was nice to go up to my brother’s house for Thanksgiving! Always great to spend time with family and enjoy yummy food!
On Friday, we tried a new place for me, Boiling Point. If you like hot pot, this is great! I thought it was good and I like the idea of being able¬†to choose your own hot pot ingredients. There’s a good variety of soups you can get with different ingredients like a Korean one, seafood one, and Angus beef one. I chose the beef and it was delicious.

On Saturday, we went to downtown Kirkland and walked around. I ran along the waterfront while they walked around further.¬†We also went to the Google Campus. It’s cool they have a walking/running trail, the Kirkland Corridor that goes through it. I ran a little on the trail. There was¬†also a fun zipline the kiddos enjoyed.

We had a nice lunch at Homegrown, a sustainable sandwich shop that features organic ingredients. The chicken pesto sandwich was really good!!

That was just some of the fun weekend. I watched my 7 yr old nephew play in his first tennis tournament. He did awesome and took 2nd place! We also had a great dinner at the Facing East restaurant. It was my first time there and was pretty good. I don’t have Taiwanese food very often and it was good. I liked the pork burger they had as well as the chow mein. I forgot to take pics. Today, was mostly spent driving home and listening to the Seahawks game on the radio. Go Hawks!

How’d your week go? Any races coming up?

Last Week’s Half Marathon Training Workouts Recap (4/13-4/19)

It was another busy week. It’s hard to follow the Nike Coach now that I’m working and don’t feel like working out or running after a 12 hour shift. It’s either I wake up early on the days that I work or I won’t get that workout in and it’s tough. I did get about 26 miles in last week so that’s not bad.
Here’s what I did:

Monday –¬†Didn’t get run in.

Tuesday – Ran 3.8 miles on the treadmill.Wednesday –¬†Didn’t get run in.

Thursday – Ran 7 miles.¬†Friday – Ran 5 miles on the treadmill. ¬†Saturday – I didn’t get the 12 miles in but got 10 miles on the treadmill. My longest run ever on the treadmill.¬†It really helps to watch a show on the treadmill and I’ve just started watching Game Of Thrones. I’m still trying to catch up and am almost on Season 4.

How’d last week go for you? Have you seen Game of Thrones? Hope you have a great rest of the week!

Last Week’s Workouts Recap (12/22-12/28)

This past week started off great! It was Christmas vacation time and we travelled up¬†to my parent’s place to spend the Holidays. It was nice because I got to workout and run with my sister from New Jersey who also came for the Holidays. I continued with the Runner’s World Run Streak but felt sick the last couple of days. Here’s how my week went:

Monday – Ran a mile with my sis for day 26 of the #RWRunStreak and then we all tried Insanity Max:30 Cardio for the first time. That was fun! I maxed out at 16:27.

Sunday, I felt a bit worse but wanted to try to run five miles. I was breathing heavily after the first mile and decided that was not going to happen so I decided to do¬†three miles. I’m hoping whatever I have is gone soon. I’m coughing and still have¬†a little headache. Something is going around because my husband and son had fevers as well as one of my sister’s kids. My temp was a little elevated but luckily not that hot. Hopefully everyone feels better tomorrow. I’m almost done with the run streak. Day 32 of 36 day done!
