Last Week’s Workouts and Weekly Wrap (4/29-5/6)

IMG_3683April ended with 94 miles. It was an awesome month for me since I got my marathon PR/BQ. I’m not training for anything at the moment so I’m just trying to keep my fitness up until June when I start training for the Tunnel Marathon that’s in September. Here’s what last week’s workouts looked like:
IMG_3669Monday – Easy 3.1 miles after a tough DVD workout. I ended up doing 21 Day Fix Extreme Plyo Fix. It’s a good one with weights and I was dripping sweat at the end.
Tuesday – Rest day.IMG_3703Wednesday – Easy 4 miles. My legs were still a little sore after the Plyo workout on Monday. Felt good to run on a beautiful day though.IMG_3728Thursday – My legs were feeling better. Ran a good 5 miles with some strides today.
Friday – Rest day.IMG_3829 2Saturday – Ran a nice 7.7 miles.
Sunday – Rest day.

Total miles = 19.8 miles. I’d say it was a good week. It’s nice not having a set schedule but the problem is figuring out what I want to do for the week haha.

As for the highlights of the week:

Monday was my now 10 year old’s birthday. I left work early and we celebrated by watching Avenger’s: Infinity War. I thought it was good. IMG_3710On Wednesday, I got the opportunity to participate in a study at the Nike World Headquarters. It was pretty cool to just be there.

On Friday, I brought the kiddos to school and enjoyed a blueberry muffin at their Muffins for Mom event.

Friday afternoon, my 10 year old had his birthday party. It was Harry Potter themed. We had our own Butterbeer and Gilly Water 🙂 .IMG_7497On Saturday, my parents were here so we went downtown and walked around Pioneer Place and the Saturday Market. We had lunch at Pine Street Market and dessert was sooo good! The Vanilla Custard with Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough from Wiz Bang Bar was delicious!! Gotta love those big chunks of cookie dough.

That pretty much wraps up my week. How’d your week go? Any races coming up?

I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and Wendy of Taking the Long Way Home  for the Weekly Wrap.

  1. Doesn’t it feel great to “just run”? Looks like you are making the most of it!

Curious about the study you were in at Nike! Will you be sharing more about it?

    Have a great week!

    1. It does feel good to just run :). There’s not much to share about the Nike study. I just ran back and forth on an indoor track surface with different shoes and once being barefoot which they measured with sensors.

  2. That looks like a great week of “just running”! I’ve sort of been doing that all year so far. How totally cool to get into the Nike World HQ. Sounds like a dream come true! Happy birthday to your son. Wow 10. It goes so freaking fast!

  3. Sounds like a nice week of just running for fun and no set schedule! Looks like Trevor had a good bday! Cool you were at Nike! Such a cool campus!

  4. Did you make your own Butterbeer? Did it turn out good? We’ve made it a few times and the kids like the recipe, but I’m always looking for another! I’m not training for anything and I have the bad habit of wanting to run every day, which I should not! I need to write up a plan for “keeping fit” 🙂

  5. Nice week of not training for anything! LOL. I admit, I can’t wait to “just run”, especially after it has gotten so warm recently. Harry Potter will never get old. My kids had a couple of those themed parties. It’s cool you made your own Butterbeer.
