It has begun. I’ve started training for my fourth marathon, CIM in December. It’s a 20 week schedule like last time and I’m happy to have Coach Dawn to coach me again. Hoping things go well to get a PR and another BQ. Here’s what last week’s workouts looked like:
Monday – Ran an easy 4 miles.Tuesday – 15 minutes easy pace.
2 x 5 minutes at moderate pace with 3 minutes easy in between.
10-15 minutes easy pace. I ended up with 5.0 miles, avg. pace 9:08.Wednesday – Rest day.
Thursday – Ran 5 easy with some drills in between, avg. pace 9:22.
After run- Core. I did about 15 min of P90X3’s Pilates.Friday – 6ish miles. I was planning to go to Forest Park to run on the trail but it didn’t work out. Got in 6.01 miles though, avg. pace 9:15.
Saturday – Half Marathon pacing. Had a great time pacing the 2:15 group at the Oregon Summer Half Marathon. Official time was 2:14:14. Race recap coming soon.
Sunday – Rest day.
Total miles = 33.11 miles. I’d say my first week of marathon training went well. CIM is a long ways of way but I’m feeling pretty good about starting up marathon training again.
Non workout wise it was an interesting and kind of scary week since my mom ended up in the hospital. So glad things turned out okay and she’s fine now. She had a tear in her esophagus and it ended up healing itself.
During the week, I got some awesome mail from Aftershokz and am now a #ShokzStar Ambassador. Have you tried these awesome headphones? They use bone conduction technology and are the safest headphones since you can hear your surroundings while still getting great sound. If you’re interested in trying one of the Trekz Titanium units and are in the PDX area, I can lend you one to test. I also have a code: SHERRY1 that will give you 15% off on aftershokz.com.Do you listen to music when you run? How’d your week go? Any races coming up?
I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.
There’s a new Guest Host Series for the Weekly Wrap to give Holly and Tricia a break and this week’s host is Darlene @ My First 5k and More.I’m also linking up with Courtney, Eat Pray Run DC‘s training recap linkup.
Great week in training! I hope your mom is doing better.

Yay for starting another marathon training cycle! I think it would be fun to pace a half marathon. But, I’m not sure I could carry the sign! I think it would irritate me. I do listen to music when I run and have great things about AfterShokz. Congrats on becoming an ambassador. I’m glad your Mom is healing well.

Thanks Holly! It does take a little getting used to carrying the sign. It’s not too bad since we switch carrying it every mile or so.

Marathon training again? Didn’t you just run one? LOL
I can’t imagine being a pacer. I never know what my finish time will be.I guess I’m not that consistent. don’t think I could run with a sign either. So good for you!
Thanks for linking up.
