It’s been a busy week with work, workouts, and getting ready to move but week 5 of marathon training is done! It was a recovery week so it was nice. I ended the Runner’s World Run Streak. The official one ended on July 4th but I went a couple days longer and ended with 39 days of running at least a mile a day. π Here’s what I did last week from Coach Dawn’s plan:
Monday – Ran 1 mile to continue the #RWRunStreak.Tuesday -Easy 30 min run, 3.21 miles.
Wednesday – Easy 30-40 min run, 4.01 miles.
Thursday -Unstructured Fartlek run. 10 min warm up and cool down with 25 mins of pick ups and recoveries. I ended upΒ running 5.01 miles.
Friday – It was an optional day, so I decided to work out with hubby and we did P90X3’s Isometrix workout, which focused on balance and core.Β
Saturday – Comfortable paced 1:00-1:10 min run with strides at the end. Ran 7.01 miles.
Sunday – Rest Day. Felt good to actually have a real rest day. π
Total Miles = 20.25 miles. I’d say it was a good recovery week. Next week should be interesting since I’ll be doing my first hill workout on the treadmill. I’ve never done a workout like that on the treadmill so it should be fun.
Here are some highlights of the week:
Monday was the 4th of July but I had to work. When I got home the kiddos wanted to do some early fireworks so we did some sparklers and other small stuff.
The neighborhood had some fireworks at night. It’s always fun to celebrate the 4th but not so much when I have to work the next day.Β On Saturday, I scored some free tickets from work to watch The Secret Life of Pets. The Great Place To Work program at my work is pretty cool since we got free popcorn, a drink, and a bag of M&Ms too.
I’ll be busy packing for the big move on Saturday. I’m excited to have a new home, but not so excited about the moving stuff part lol.
How’d your week go? See any new movies lately? Do you get perks at work?
Be sure to enter my giveaway for the new Amazing Grass Protein Superfood if you haven’t already!
Iβm linking up withΒ HoHo RunsΒ and MissSippiPiddlinΒ for the Weekly Wrap.
Recovery weeks are the best, right? That is awesome about the tickets! I want to see that movie too but just need to find a kid to go with . π I am a teacher so I guess the only perk I have is being off in the summer. I will enter your giveaway but I already won one from another blogger. Cannot wait to try it.

I would dread moving! We’ve lived here for 19 years and probably need a dumpster to rid ourselves of all the crap we’ve accumulated over the years!

Haha. We’ve been in this house for 12 yrs and it was hard to declutter when we were trying to sell it. Now moving is another story lol, having to box everything…

How exciting to be moving to a new house. But yeah, the packing and unpacking is not so fun. Free movie tickets is a great work perk. We had to see ALL the animated movies when my kids were little. And then we bought them and played them over and over too! You had a fantastic “recovery” week. Good luck with the move this weekend. Thanks for linking, Sherry!
