CIM Training Week 19 and Weekly Wrap (11/20-11/26)

Next Sunday’s the big day! 19 weeks of training have gone by and I can’t believe it’s just seven days until I run my fourth marathon, CIM (California International Marathon). Here’s what last week’s workouts looked like from Coach Dawn‘s plan:IMG_0104Monday – Plan: Easy 4-5.

Actual: Ran 5 miles with 4 strides and did some drills and core work afterwards.001Saturday – Plan: Easy 12-13.
Actual: I felt fine and ran 13.01 miles, avg. pace 9:06. Felt the need to get that extra mile in for all the eating during the week lol.

Sunday –  Plan: Rest day.
Actual: Rest day.

Total miles = 41.88 miles. It was yet another good week of training. I feel pretty good about the upcoming race. A big thanks to Coach Dawn who’s helped me get to where I am! I’m still nervous but also excited. Training has gone so well but you never know what may happen on race day. I’m hoping to beat my PR of 3:42:39 and aiming for 3:40 or better. We’ll see how things unravel next week.

As for the highlights of the week:IMG_0264Thanksgiving was at our place. It was great that everyone came. It was a full house. 🙂IMG_0160We had plenty of yummy food.IMG_0199It was great to go for a walk at Noble Woods Park afterwards to help walk off what we ate. IMG_0195Pic of all the cousins together.

They also had fun at the park the next day.
IMG_0257It’s nice when the boys are all together. 🙂IMG_0250So thankful for a fantastic Thanksgiving.

How’d your week go? Any races coming up?

I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.

  1. Your pictures are beautiful! I love the one of the shoes–I noticed that at the top of your post as soon as the page opened!

I think you are going to do fantastic next weekend. Your training has been meticulous and it bodes well for a good race!

  2. How fun to get to run with your sister. There’s nothing like having a running buddy after so many solo miles. Good luck next week. I can’t wait to read all about it!

  3. It sounds like you have a lovely Thanksgiving with the family. I know you and Sharon must enjoy every opportunity you can get to be together and especially run together. You’ve had a stellar training cycle. I have no doubt you will have a fantastic race. Good luck and enjoy! Thanks for linking.

  4. You are so ready! I have to giggle at running 13 miles as an “easy” run the week before your marathon. Because, you know, that’s the furthest I’ve ever run (essentially).

But man! That’s a whole lot of family. So glad i only have 7 extra mouths to feed on Thanksgiving!

I think you’re going to have a great marathon. Good luck!

  5. Looks like a great holiday. What a fun family! Also super fun that you ran with your sister, and she has a blog AND she’s running CIM! I’m going to check out her blog too. Do you have similar race goals? Are you running together at CIM?

  6. I smell a PR for you in CA! You’ve done so well with your training and I know Coach Dawn has got to be very proud of you!
Wow your Saturday’s picture is just beautiful! I just got to know how you got all the kids to pose for pictures! We can never get everyone ready for the snap at the same time lol!
