Another week down and just six weeks to go until I run my fourth marathon, CIM. So grateful for another great week. Here’s what last week’s workouts looked like from Coach Dawn‘s plan:
Monday – Plan: 6 miles easy with 4 x strides.
Actual: Ran 6 early miles with 4 x strides.Tuesday- Plan: 15 minutes easy
30 minute tempo- 7:40-55
10 minutes easy
Actual: It was a foggy morning and ran it as planned. Splits in the 30 min tempo were: 7:50, 7:43, 7:44, and 7:49. It wasn’t too bad but a little scary with the fog at first.Wednesday – Plan: 1:25, pace 8:30-8:45.
Actual: Felt pretty good on this one even with some rain. Ended up with 10 miles, avg. pace 8:29.Thursday – Plan: Easy 7 + drills and core.
Actual: It was another rainy run and saw this interesting fella. It scared me at first but had to stop and take a pic. It’s a newt. Ran an easy 7 miles, avg. pace 9:07.Friday – Plan: Easy 4-5.
Actual: I had run a lot of miles already this week and knew I had 19 on Saturday so decided to take it easy and ran just 4 miles, avg. pace 9:34.Saturday – Plan: 3 miles easy
14 miles 8:30-40
2 miles easy
Actual: It went better than I thought it would and nailed the paces. So thankful things are going well.My breakfast consisted of a Banana Nut Chia Bar. Have you tried these? They are so good and work great pre run or as a snack. You can save 30% off using code: happyrunningmom130 on the Health Warrior website.
About half an hour before my run, I had my two servings of UCAN and just used nuun to hydrate. I’m still loving the UCAN since it seems to be working. My energy level was great during the run.
Sunday – Plan: Rest day.
Actual: Rest day.
Total miles = 52.58 miles. It was a great week and high mileage week. I think this is the most miles I’ve ever ran in a week. I got to thank Coach Dawn for getting me to where I am. She’s awesome and has really helped with planning around my compressed work week schedule. I think I’m in the best running shape ever. My endurance is pretty crazy right now. Hope things continue to go well. Looks like I have a 20 miler this coming Saturday.
As for the other highlights of the week: We didn’t do anything exciting, just the normal errands. But my kiddos are really into Hamilton right now. So cute when they sing it.
Have you heard the Hamilton musical recording? How’d your week go? Any races coming up?
I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.
Looks like you had many runs this week that were rainy, but that did not stop you. Great job. I never tried those chai bars but they sound tasty.

Your weekly mileage is very impressive! I can’t wait to see how much you WILL take off your marathon finish time. I’m glad to hear UCAN is working for you. I really haven’t tried it for running yet as my miles have been low. The leaves are gorgeous in your pictures this week. Thanks for linking.
