It was another good week of workouts and ended with the Helvetia Half Marathon on Saturday. For not training for anything yet until July, things are going just fine and dandy 🙂 . Here’s what I did for workouts last week:
Monday – Started the week with a workout with hubby and did 22 Min Hard Corps Resistance 1. Afterwards, I ran 3.35 miles.
Tuesday – We did another 22 Min Hard Corps workout, Resistance 2. It was a good strength workout. Then I ran 3.10 miles.
Wednesday – Got in 4.01 miles for Global Running Day.
Thursday – Coach Dawn mentioned to me that I could start running faster stuff so as suggested, I ran a few easy miles then did 5×30 sec fast/min recovery and then a few easy miles for a total of 5.01 miles.
Friday – Rest day.
Saturday – Ran the Helvetia Half Marathon. I wasn’t running this one for time and just had fun with this tough and hilly course. It was pouring rain at the end. Can you tell in the picture below? Stay tuned for the race recap. Official time was 1:51:59. Oh, I finally got my Oregon Spring Half Marathon recap up if you’d like to check it out.Sunday – Rest day.
Total miles = 28.57 miles. It was a good week. I ran a good amount of miles, got in some nice strength workouts, and the Helvetia Half Marathon was fun despite the rain. I’m looking forward to doing more faster stuff. Maybe I’ll do that #MyMile challenge on Strava sometime this month. You can win a pair of shoes as well as 10 of your followers. What’s your fastest mile? I have no idea what mine would be.
As for the rest of the week, nothing too exciting. I ran errands, did laundry, etc. I did some biking with the kiddos in the neighborhood and we went to the library. We also had family movie night and watched Storks. It was cute.
My 6 year old did break out the dominoes. We had some fun with those.
How’d your week go? Any races coming up? Are you going to run the #MyMile Challenge on Strava?
I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.
Great week of workouts – loving the variety! I saw that #MyMile challenge on Strava and I’m also thinking about doing it as well.
I love that your 6 year old likes dominoes – I used to loved playing with them as a kid myself!
Thanks for linking up for the weekly wrap!

I thought about doing that Strava mile challenge! I have no idea how fast my fastest mile would be but it certainly isn’t what I’m running now. When I was training for Chicago, I was crushing my speed work–I bet I could have had under 7. Now I’ll be lucky to get 8…

You should do it. You might be surprised on what you get. I have no idea how fast mine will be too.

That’s a speedy half finish time for not focusing on running fast. I hope to be able to run that fast someday!

Really great week for not being in a training cycle! I like the idea of doing races for fun when not formally training. Nice job on your half!

I need to look into that Strava challenge. I deleted that app from my phone because I have too much stuff in it and am running out of room/space.
Love your attitude about the race and running in the rain. That is one thing I hate; I am miserable during a run/race when it is raining the whole time.

Thanks Zenaida! It didn’t rain the whole time, so that’s a plus. Yeah, Strava has some cool challenges.
