Seattle Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon Workouts Recap & Weekly Wrap (5/16-5/22)

Another week of workouts completed. I’m not really following a set plan for the Seattle RnR Half but I am still trying to get my miles for the year and I’m still on track for a 100 mile month. I’ll be pacing the Oregon Spring Half Marathon next Saturday at Heirloom Roses in St. Paul, OR. It should be a fun one and I’m looking forward to pacing again. But here’s what I did last week:

Monday – Started with Cardio 3 from 22 Min Hard Corps with hubby and then ran 3 miles.
imageimageTuesday – Got some strength training in and did Resistance 1 from 22 Min Hard Corps and then ran 3 miles.imageimageWednesday – Ran 8.5 miles while my 5 year old was in preschool.imageThursday – Got a little yoga in and did P90X3 Yoga and also ran 3 miles.imageimageFriday – Rest day.

Saturday – Ran 10 early miles.imageSunday – Rest day.

Total miles = 27.54 miles. It was a pretty good mileage week for me. Anything above 25 miles is great for me. I’m already looking ahead and once the Seattle Rock’n’Roll Half is done I’ll be training for the Chicago Marathon. I’m getting excited. It will be my second marathon. I haven’t decided on a training plan yet. I’ll probably do another modified Hal Higdon plan but we shall see.

Besides work and worrying if our house will sell, the week went okay. It’s always fun watching the kiddos in their martial arts classes. My 5 yr old did pretty good with those pushups.

  1. When are you starting to train for Chicago ? I am doing NY, and going to start slowly sometime in June. I prefer longer plans with really slow builds….

Your yoga inversion is one of my favorites!

Your kids are always so cute…..

  2. I hope you have fun pacing the Oregon Spring Half Marathon. I’ve always wanted to try that (slower than normal pace of course) but am afraid I would not be very consistent. My son always loved breaking boards. When the studio had belt testing, they used real boards. We still have all of his which were dated and signed by the instructor. The next big thing I’ll be training for is Chicago as well, but not until mid July. Thanks for linking with us Sherry and enjoy the race!
