It was a nice and easy recovery week after the Shamrock Run Portland Half Marathon last Sunday. If you haven’t checked out my recap where I got my half marathon PR, here’s a link: HERE. 🙂
Here’s what I did last week:
- Monday – Rest Day.
- Tuesday – Rest Day.
- Wednesday – Ran 3 early morning rainy miles.
- Thursday – Ran/Walked 1.5 miles with my 5 yr old. Happy to run with my little guy!
- Friday – Ran 5.01 miles.
- Saturday – Ran 6.01 treadmill miles.
- Sunday -Rest Day.
Total Miles = 15.52 miles. Not very many miles but that’s a recovery week for you. I’ll be training for the Hippie Chick Half Marathon next which is another new race for me on May 7th. I’ve yet to decide what training plan I’ll use.
Also last week, a new virtual Earthathon relay on Twitter began. Ten teams are racing the distance of the circumference of the earth. The 2016 relay started on 3/13 and it’s not too late to join. All you need is a Twitter account where you can tweet your miles that you’ve run, walked, hiked, climbed, etc. But biking miles do not count. There’s great motivation and support from around the world!
Do you want to be a part of Earthathon? It’s really easy to participate. Pick the team you want to run for HERE. Then just tweet your miles and add hashtags #earthathon and the hashtag of the team you pick. Then fill out a quick form HERE so that your miles are logged (password is run). I’m the team captain of team RunderfulRunners and would love for you to join the relay! 🙂 You can learn more here at http://earthathonrelay.com.
Another thing this week was I tried the musical.ly app. It’s a fun and easy way to create music videos. I knew my kids would have fun with this one. 🙂

Have you tried musical.ly? How’d your week go?
I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.
I actually like recovery weeks–it’s kind of nice not to “have” to run.
I signed up for that Earthathon last year, but it was tedious having to log my miles. I felt bad for bailing–they kept calling me out on Twitter! Oops….

It is nice to have a break. Lol, it doesn’t have to be tedious. It’s a fun way to stay active on Twitter and you don’t have to log your miles every day. Last time we came in second place….one of these days we’ll come in first. 🙂

Nice week Sherry! Love that Josh is running with you! Payton wants to start up again and wants to run another 5K! I just gotta find a family friendly one to do now. 🙂 I will have to check out musical.ly. The boys will probably like it!

You deserved a nice recovery week. Congratulations on that PR! I love the name of your next half marathon: Hippie Chick. I’ve got several more HMs lined up so now I’m caught between not knowing whether I’m recovering or tapering. Somehow it’s both, I guess. Thanks for linking with us Sherry.
