Shamrock Run Portland Half Marathon Training Workouts Recap and Weekly Wrap (2/8-2/14)

My first half marathon of the year is four weeks away. I think training is going  relatively well. I also have a 10k in two weeks, the Mommathon 10k. I’m still following the My Asics App for my half marathon and did a few Hammer and Chisel workouts. Here’s what I did last week:

Monday – Chisel Agility.Tuesday – Ran 3 early morning miles.
Wednesday – Woke up early to do Chisel Cardio with the hubby.  Then ran 8 miles after dropping the kiddo off at preschool.
Thursday – Early morning workout, Hammer Power. This one has some power lifting type moves. It was kind of fun.

Friday – 3 morning miles.Saturday – 8 fast miles.

Sunday – Rest day.

I ran 22.06 miles for the week and did 3 Hammer and Chisel workouts. Not too shabby. My paces on my fast runs have been pretty good, within the guideline paces of the My Asics app, so I’m happy.

On Monday, I found out I was selected to be a mermaid club ambassador. So cool to be part of this awesome group of ladies that promotes health and fitness! Love there motto, “Live Life Make Waves.”On Friday, I helped out at my kiddo’s preschool for their Valentine’s Day party. It’s always nice to help out when I can.

My parents were in town and they wanted to go outlet shopping so we went to the outlet mall on Saturday. They have a big tree house for the kids to play in. I scored some pretty good deals on more workout clothes.The highlight of the weekend was going to hubby’s work function celebration on Saturday. They were celebrating a challenge that they completed and it was at the Portland Art Museum. I guess you could say this was our Valentine’s Day night out since I worked on Sunday. I thought the food served was delicious. Here’s the salad: Main course:Dessert:

We also had access to the art at the museum, which was pretty cool. I don’t go to art museums often. Here are some pics from the museum:
  

  
  
There was a photo booth. It’s always fun to put on funky hair. 🙂

  1. Congrats on the mermaid club! That’s exciting!! I just love that you and your hubby work out together. My husband started workout out again a few months ago but we don’t ever train at the same time. Glad you had a nice Valentine’s Day!

  2. Congrats on being selected as a mermaid club ambassador. I like their motto “Live Life Make Waves”! You had great paces on your fast runs this week. It’s been such a long time since I’ve run anything starting with an “8”. The event on Saturday looks like a fun way to celebrate Valentines (even though it had nothing to do with it!). I haven’t been to a museum in a while but it’s always fascinating what you will find inside. Thanks for linking with us Sherry!

  3. Wow, that was a pretty fancy dinner dealio! Perfect for Valentine’s weekend. Great pics at the art gallery. I really like Ansel Adams B&W’s. I like the shots of you and hubby working out and then all cleaned up for the dinner – nice contrast there. Great workout week Sherry! Happy Training!!
