Great surprise to run into a friend and run some miles with her. Workout was: 14-16 miles 6 miles easy 2 miles 8:45-9 6-8 miles 8:30-45. Ended up with 16 miles and paces were good. 4 weeks to go until the Tunnel Light Marathon. Happy weekend all!

Good uptempo run today. Workout was: Easy 1.5-2 miles 2 miles @ 8:00-8:10 2 miles @ 7:50-8 1-2 miles easy It went well and finished on the faster side. Ended up with 8 miles and fast paces were 8:02, 7:53, 7:48, and 7:45.

“Passion is pushing myself when there is no one else around - just me and the road.” —Ryan Shay . . 20 miles in the books today. Plan had: 18-20 miles Easy w/last 4 miles @ 8:10-20. Surprisingly felt pretty good and went a little faster than I thought. Last 4 miles were 8:13, 8:13, 8:08, and 8:05. Grateful marathon training is still going well. That wraps up the week with 50 miles. 5 weeks to go until the Tunnel Light Marathon.

Late post but ran 14 miles yesterday. It was a tough one since it was hilly but as they say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Workout was: 14-15 Easy effort up the hill from the starting point on this route if you can, or close. That should give you a 2 mile downhill. Do that section with a MP/moderate effort of around 3 x 5 min/ 2:30 easy. Ok if you finish that portion on rolling or uphill. Add in 4 x 20 seconds fast scattered through the other sections of the run. Mix of uphill/downhill or flat. The rest of the miles at a comfortable effort, as comfortable as you can on the uphills. Ended up with 14 miles and 1,545 ft elevation gain. Glad that’s over with 😆. 6 weeks to go until the marathon. Have a great week ahead!

192 miles for the month of July. I’d say it was a good month. Grateful that marathon training is going well. Happy August!
