Wow, just two weeks to go until I run CIM! I can’t believe it’s getting close! Last week I ran my last longer run and now it’s taper time, woohoo! Here’s what last week’s workouts looked like from Coach Dawn‘s plan:
Monday – Plan: Recovery pace 5.
Actual: Ran 5 recovery miles, avg. pace 9:43.Tuesday- Plan: Fartlek. 15 minutes easy
8 x 2 minutes moderate/2:30 easy
15-20 minutes easy.
Actual: Ran as planned and ended up with 7.29 miles, avg. pace 9:04.Wednesday – Plan: Progression. 4 miles easy
4 miles 8:00-10.
Actual: Felt pretty good and it wasn’t too bad running in the rain. Splits were 9:17, 9:04, 9:02, 8:56, 8:05, 8:02, 8:00, 7:57. Love getting negative splits!Thursday – Plan: 1 mile easy
8 miles 8:15-20
1 mile easy.
Actual: Another good rainy run. Maybe the rain made me go faster but some of the 8 mile splits were a little bit faster than planned. (9:21, 8:16, 8:14, 8:15, 8:11, 8:14, 8:13, 8:13, 8:12, 9:10)Friday – Plan: 4 miles recovery pace.
Actual: Ran 4 recovery miles, avg. pace 9:33.Saturday – Plan: 8:35-45
Planned time: 2:30.
Actual: Felt good to get this one over with. It was another super early long run and I’m glad there were no creepy cars this time. I felt strong and went a little fast. Ended up with 17.56 miles, avg. pace 8:33.Sunday – Plan: Rest day.
Actual: Rest day.
Total miles = 51.85 miles. It was another great week of training. So happy to finish my last longer run strong. I’m getting excited and nervous about the race. I’ve put in the work and have been super dedicated. Hope it pays off! 🙂
As for the highlights of the week:
Nothing too exciting. My kiddos and I watched a little of the Mine Con when it was on live for all you Minecraft folks lol. I played a little Minecraft before with the kiddos but it’s been a long time and 9 year old wanted to watch it. The costume winners I saw were pretty cool. Other than it was a pretty lazy weekend but somewhat productive. It’s always fun when the kiddos help with the laundry lol.
But I’m excited for Thanksgiving since, we’re having it at our place this year. My sister just came in last night so I’m happy to see her and her family. 🙂
Hope everyone has a happy Thanksgiving!
How’d your week go? Any races coming up?
I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.

Thanks Judy! Thanksgiving went well. The turkey had to be cooked a bit longer but all was good. 🙂

Yeah, I don’t do a whole turkey, but even the legs & thighs had to be cooked longer. I have to stop relying on my husband’s thermometers!
