Last week was the second week after CIM (California International Marathon). It’s nice to take things easy after a marathon. I got in 4 easy paced runs for the week. Here’s what I did:Monday – Chilly first run post the marathon. Got in 3 miles before work and felt good to be back at it despite the cold.
Tuesday – Rest day.Wednesday – Ran 5.0 easy miles, avg. pace 9:30. Thursday – Ran 5.14 easy miles, avg. pace 9:21.
Friday – Rest day.Saturday – Ran 10.01 easy miles.
Sunday – Rest day.
Total miles = 23.15 miles. I’d say it was a nice recovery week. My legs are feeling pretty good. I’m enjoying the down time but I know things will be picking up soon since I’m planning to run marathon number 5 in April. I’ve decided to run the Vernonia Marathon again and hopefully get a BQ.
As for the rest of the week:On Friday, I went to the kiddos’ holiday sing along. Fun hearing all the kids sing.Saturday was a great movie day. We didn’t watch the new Star Wars movie yet but will next week when hubby is with us. We watched Disney Pixar’s latest movie, Coco. I thought it was pretty good. The kiddos also decorated their gingerbread house. I’m looking forward to the holiday weekend.
Also, Perry the Elf is back. Here are few places he’s been spotted: 🙂
Wishing you all Happy Holidays!

I bet Vernonia will be it for you. That course is so pretty and since you’re familiar with it that will help with the mental side. Are you doing anything differently this cycle?

Thanks Catherine! Hope so! I have a run coach, so I’ll be following her plan. She’s saying the long runs won’t be quite as long this cycle and will be more quality than length.

I have a half coming up in April, but otherwise still not sure how my body will handle training for anything longer than that! Enjoy your downtime. You have such beautiful scenery on your runs!

I love see what everyone’s elf is up to. I like the name Perry for yours. We’ve just seen Star Wars. I’m sure you will all enjoy it! Good luck as you train for Vernonia. You’ll get that BQ! Thanks for linking.
