Last week was recovery week after the California International Marathon(CIM). I decided to take the whole week off of running, which was nice. It was good to take a break. I especially liked not having to get up early for work. My quads and calves were pretty sore after the race. But I’m ready for a run tomorrow.
Monday – Rest day.
Tuesday – Rest day.
Wednesday – Rest day.Thursday – Walked 2 miles.
Friday – Rest day.Saturday – Walked 1.1 miles. The kiddos wanted to play wall ball so we did. It brought me back to the good old days lol. I loved playing wall ball in elementary school. My 7 year old said I was a master :).It was good recovery week but I’m ready to get back into running.
Be sure to check out my recap of the California International Marathon HERE.How’d your week go? Any races coming up?
I’m linking up with HoHo Runs and MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.
As much as I love Recovery weeks it does makes me excited to get back to a regular workout schedule the next week when my legs are fresh! Nice race photo!

I love that you took a real recovery week after the marathon! I think too many runners ignore the “recovery” part after a huge race. Now you’ll be nice and rested before getting back into running this week!

Thanks Kim! I like taking a week off. I think I’ve done it for all my marathons. 🙂

You’ve had so many early morning runs leading up to CIM. I bet it was heavenly to sleep in for a few days but I can totally relate to the itch to get back out there and run. The weather in Oregon looks lovely!

It was heavenly to sleep in a little. The weather’s been nice with the sun out the last couple of days but it’s been cold.

You are wise to take some time off! You deserve a physical and mental break from the training cycle and the race. Great race recap, by the way. Congratulations on crossing another marathon finish line (at what I thought was an awesome finish time). Thanks for linking!
