Another week is in the books and eight weeks to go until I run my fourth marathon, CIM. It was a big mileage week and it went pretty well. Now I’m looking forward to this week’s cut back week 🙂 . Here’s what last week’s workouts looked like from Coach Dawn‘s plan:
Monday – Plan: 5-6 Recovery pace miles.
Actual: Started the week with 6 recovery miles, 9:36/mi pace.Tuesday- Plan:Â Easy 5-6 miles with 4 x strides.
Actual: Ran a nice and early 6.01 miles with 4 x strides.
Wednesday –Â Plan: 2 miles easy
6 miles 8:00-8:20
2 miles easy
Actual: Ran as planned. The fast 6 miles ended up being 8:10, 8:02, 8:01, 8:03. 8:00, 8:00. Felt good to hit the paces.Thursday –Â Plan:Â Easy 8 miles.
Actual: Ran a nice 8 miler. It was chilly out but nice and sunny. Avg. pace 9:13.Friday –Â Plan:Â 3-4 recovery pace.
Actual: Had a good 3.01 mile recovery run, avg. pace 9:39.Saturday –Â Plan: 18-19 miles
Last 2 miles- 8:15-25.
Actual: I decided to run 18 miles and felt pretty good overall. I picked up the pace and my last two miles ended up being 8:15 and 8:13. Maybe listening to Hamilton the whole time helped. I had a Banana Nut Health Warrior Chia bar for breakfast and had two servings of UCAN about 30 min before I ran. UCANÂ still seems to be working well for me since my energy was pretty steady. I also had nuun to hydrate in my trusty Simple Hydration bottle.Sunday – Rest day.
Total miles = 51 miles. I ran a lot of miles this week. Still so grateful that things are going well. Glad to have Coach Dawn telling me what to do and it’s definitely working. I feel like I’m in the best running shape ever.
As for the other highlights of the week:
We checked out the Spirit of Halloween Store. The kiddos always want to go to this store:
Are you excited for Halloween? How’d your week go? Any races coming up?

Great training week! How awesome to be able to pickup the pace like that in your final 2 miles. Amazing work! I saw many of those yellow Chi shirts on the race course yesterday. Brought back memories. Can’t believe it’s a whole year since you ran it!

You and Coach Dawn seem to be a great match! You are in excellent running shape and I can’t wait to see you rock it at the CIM Marathon. My kids always loved to go to Party City before Halloween. They always had great costumes and decorations. Thanks for linking!

Thanks Agness! It doesn’t take me that long to get ready, maybe half an hour or so. But getting out the door is the hardest part lol.
