As an AfterShokz ambassador, I got to try the all new Trekz Air headphones thanks to AfterShokz. All opinions expressed are my own.

First off, I tried AfterShokz headphones a little over a year and a half ago. I remember running in the Portland Shamrock Half marathon and it was pouring rain and out popped one of my earbuds. I love listening to music when I run and to have that happen during a race was annoying and had me exerting more energy trying to put it back in but of course it kept popping back out. After that I had to look into other possibilities and it was just under my nose. My hubby was already using AfterShokz Trekz Titanium headphones. He wears hearing aids and found they worked the best since he couldn’t wear ear buds. So glad he had them since I got to try them out. That’s how I found out how awesome they are and had to buy my own set.

AfterShokz headphones uses bone conduction technology. Their technology produces sound via mini vibrations that travel through your cheekbones to your inner ears. This keeps your ears open so they are safer since you can still hear your surroundings.

I was so happy to get to try the new Trekz Air. Below you can see it comes with a nice case, USB charger, and earplugs. The earplugs are there if you don’t want to hear your surroundings. For example if you’re at home working, you can wear the earplugs so you won’t hear a TV that’s on nearby or kids screaming, haha.When I first held them, I thought wow these are super light. They are 20% lighter than the Trekz Titanium. Below is a pic of the Trekz Air on the left and Trekz Titanium on the right.You can see the wraparound band on the Trekz Air is thinner but is full titanium so it’s more flexible and durable. You can also see how the bands on each side like where the buttons are is smaller on the Trekz Air.

Here are 5 things I love about the Trekz Air:

1. They are super light and I forget that I have them on.
2. The fit is great and I don’t have to worry about earbuds falling out.
3. They sound terrific even with the open ear design. They have redesigned transducers that deliver high-quality PremiumPitch+ sound with more bass over the Trekz Titanium.
4. They are safer than regular headphones. You are able to hear your surroundings. Just last week, it was an early morning run and I got scared by the scurrying of a squirrel.
5. The battery lasts a long time. According to the website, you can enjoy six hours of continuous music + calls on a single charge. I haven’t tested it but it’s easy to check to see if the battery level is high, medium, or low by tapping the on button after you’ve turned it on.
   

I added a bonus:

They are sweat proof. I have finished my runs and they’ve been soaked in sweat and still work fine. I’ve wore them in the rain too. The website says they are IP55 certified to repel sweat, dust and moisture, from workouts to wicked weather.
