Last Week’s Workouts and Weekly Wrap (5/22-5/28)

Last week was a another good week of workouts and ended with pacing the Oregon Spring Half Marathon on Saturday. I got in a few cross training workouts and a trail run which was tough but fun. Here’s what I did:

Monday – Started with Core de Force MMA Speed with hubby and then ran a nice 3 miles.IMG_5078001Tuesday – Missed my alarm that morning and didn’t get my workout in with hubby. Got in 4 miles with some strides though. Ran 4.08 miles, avg. pace 9:04.001Wednesday – Started the morning with T25 Total Body Circuit with hubby. That workout is always a tough one. Then got in 2.04 miles before work, avg. pace 9:39.IMG_5158001 (1)Thursday – I had to test out the new trail shoes I bought and ran 5.05 miles on the Wildwood trail, avg. pace 10:47. It’s tough with all the hills but the scenery is awesome. I’m looking forward to more trail running.001 (3)IMG_5156Friday – Rest day.

Saturday – Paced the 2:15 group at the Oregon Spring Half Marathon. My Garmin had me at 13.07 miles, 2:14:34. Official time was 2:14:30. I’d call it a pacing success. I’ll have a recap up soon.IMG_5218Sunday -Rest day.

Total miles = 27.31 miles. It was a great week. I got in some good miles. I actually have another half marathon coming up in two weeks, the Helvetia Half Marathon which I signed up for when I signed up for the Hippie Chick Half because of a great deal I got on the getmyperks website with coupon code. It’s hard for me to pass up great deals haha. I’m looking forward to that one since I’ve never ran it before and it’ll just be another one for fun.

As for the other highlights of the week:

I did some biking with the kiddos.IMG_5162IMG_5166We saw this blue duck all by itself and decided to take a pic with it. 🙂

We also had some Frisbee fun.IMG_5226

I have to work on Monday but I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day!

How’d your week go? Any races coming up?

Oh, last chance to save 20% on Generation UCAN. Special offer ends May 31st at generationucan.com/store with code HAPPYRUNNING. I used two scoops before my half marathon and that’s it…no gels. Love it! See my review HERE.

  1. Congrats on successfully pacing a half marathon – thats awesome! I think it must be so hard to pace a race but you nailed it!

Core de Force looks intense – I would love to try it!

  2. I am impressed with your workout and running in the morning BEFORE going to work. 🙂 Great job! School is almost over and I am hoping I can do that since I’ll have nowhere else to go afterwards.

How did I miss the discount code? I am going to order more stuff. Thanks!

  3. I have never paced a race (other than pacing a random friend now & then), but I have thought of applying to pace a half marathon group. Did you have to submit a verified finish time?

  4. Great job on the pacing. Is that the first time you’ve done that? I think holding the pace sign would be the hardest part. That looks like a beautiful trail. I’d like to run more trails too but there just aren’t many around here to enjoy. That blue duck is so random! Thanks for linking, Sherry!

    1. Thanks Holly! This is my first time pacing this year but I’ve paced before. We switch off holding the signs so it’s not bad. Haha, I thought the blue duck was random too but would make a great pic. Thanks for having the awesome link up!
