Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day! The second week of May went well. Another half marathon is in the books. I actually counted how many half marathons I’ve done and I ran my 21st half marathon, the Hippie Chick Half Marathon on Saturday. I’m still enjoying not having a set schedule but I can be indecisive on what I do. Anyhow, here’s what my workouts looked like last week:
Monday – Did P90X3 Total Synergistics with hubby and then ran 3.01 miles.
Tuesday – Did another workout with hubby, P90X3 CVX. Then ran 3.01 miles with some strides.
Wednesday – Rest day.
Thursday – Ran 5 miles with some strides.Friday – Rest day.
Saturday – Ran the Hippie Chick Half Marathon, 13.11 miles. I wasn’t going for time on this one. It was rainy but I still had fun. Race recap coming soon.Sunday – Rest day.
Total miles = 24.13 miles. It was a nice week. I’m still taking things somewhat easy since I’m not training for anything yet. I’m looking forward to the warmer weather and sunshine that is supposed to come midweek.
As for the other highlights of the week:
It was fun helping out at the kiddos’ school Jog-a-thon on Friday. It was tough tallying the group I was assigned to at times but fun to watch them and cheer them on.
On Saturday, we decided to try a new bubble tea place that just opened recently. I didn’t know it’d take over an hour to get the drinks…oh wells. My drink was good but I wouldn’t wait over an hour again. I got the spicy watermelon with mango twist. Love the cute Mother’s Day gifts my kiddos gave me.
How’d your week go? Have you tried bubble tea? How do you decide what workouts to do when you’re not training for anything?

Great job on your half! I bet that was fun with the kiddos for their race! I love bubble teas. I haven’t had one in awhile.

Congrats on Half Marathon number 21! You are super fast!! How cute all the kids were at the jogathon!! If I decide to marathon train, I will try to run at least 15 miles a week and 6-8 mile long run. Usually I only do short distance in the summer. Two years ago, I set a goal to PR my one mile time. That was fun!

Thanks Katie! That’s a cool goal to PR your mile time. I’m not even sure what’s my fastest mile time.

Thanks Kim! Bubble tea is so good. I just didn’t like the wait. Not all places have long waits like that but it can be pricey.

Our brunch on Mother’s Day took 2 1/2 hours . . . service was not good. 😦 And the food was mostly just okay. We’ve given that place two tries, so moving on!
When I’m not training for something — well, of course I wouldn’t be running a half if I weren’t training for something 🙂 — I generally don’t do speedwork and I do less mileage. I may have a plan, but sometimes I’ll find myself running longer just because I’m enjoying the run — something I never do when I’m training for something, LOL!
I’ve never tried Bubble Tea.

Wow, sorry to hear about your bad service on Mother’s day. I wouldn’t go back either. Lol, when not training it can be more enjoyable. 🙂

Great job on your half! I haven’t had bubble tea in a while and it looks good. I don’t think I’d wait an hour for it though. Nice week!

Looks like you ran another strong race. Can’t wait to hear more. I haven’t tried bubble tea for the exact reason you mentioned. The wait was insane!

Thanks Marcia! It was so long, hoping it’s not always like that.

I hope you enjoyed your Mother’s Day with the kiddos. I’m glad you counted those half marathons! That’s very impressive. And, I have no doubt you’ll keep adding to that number. Congrats on Hippie Chick (cute name) I haven’t tried bubble tea and can’t believe you waited an hour for your drinks! When I’m not training for a race, I try to get one or two long and aerobic cardio workouts in (like cycling) with a few runs for good measure. Thanks for linking, Sherry!

Thanks Holly! We pretty much celebrated on Saturday since I had to work on Sunday, but it was good. Thanks for having the link up!

Why does it take so long for those drinks? Yeah, I wouldn’t wait that long either. Question, when you do strength workouts and running, do you run first or later?

They are blended drinks so with lots of people, it takes so long. I’m not waiting that long again lol. I’ve been doing strength workout with hubby so I work out with him first and then run.

Congrats on your 21st half marathon Sherry. Sorry I missed you at the race, I was freezing after my race and left before I got to see you. Looking forward to pacing with you this weekend.
My plan when I’m not training for a race? Uh, that lasted about 3 weeks. I signed up for a July 4 5k and will resume marathon training June 10!!
Boba tea is awesome. I’ve had it from Yogurt munch and OreAsia market here in town.

Thanks Angie! No worries. Looking forward to pacing too. I need to find a 5k to run. Which marathon are you running? Love boba tea! I think the OreAsia marker closed down though.
