Hippie Chick Half Marathon Training Workouts Recap & Weekly Wrap (4/18-4/24)

I’m two weeks away from the Hippie Chick Half Marathon. I’m still making sure I get my workouts in even if it means waking up at 4:30 in the morning. Here’s what I did last week:

  • Monday – Started the morning with a nice strength workout, 22 Min Hard Corps Resistance 3, and then ran 2.01 miles on the treadmill.
  • Tuesday – Worked out with hubby again and did 22 Min Hard Corps Cardio 2 and then ran 3.01 miles.
  • Wednesday – Ran 8.01 miles while my 5 year old was in preschool.
  • Thursday – Rest Day
  • Friday – Ran 4.51 miles.
  • Saturday – Ran 11.01 fast and early miles.
  • Sunday – Rest day.

Total miles = 28.55 miles.

It was a good mileage week for me. I should be able to reach my goal of 100 miles for the month. Saturday’s fast run was faster than my previous long run which I’m happy about but I still need to work on my pacing. The My Asics app had me scheduled to run the 11 miles at 8:19 pace. I think the 8:21 average I got is pretty darn close enough. 😛 This is what my splits looked like:

Some exciting news came on Thursday, when I read the email that I got into the Chicago Marathon…woohoo! So awesome my sister got in too!!wp-1461544855915.jpg

This will be my second marathon and I hope it goes better than my first. Let’s just say I won’t be eating sushi close to the marathon.

In other news, we were still in cleaning/decluttering mode until the photographer came on Friday to take pictures. He sure made our house look nicer. We’ll be putting it on the market this weekend. I’m hoping our house sells fast and maybe there will be a bidding war, lol! I can only hope.

How’d your week go? Any races coming up? I’m linking up with HoHo Runsand MissSippiPiddlin for the Weekly Wrap.

  2. I am so happy for both you and Sharon that you’ll be running the Chicago Marathon together. You guys are going to have a blast. You are just getting faster and faster by the minute. That was a great 11 mile pace you ran last week! Good luck with the sale of your home.

  4. Hooray for Chicago! I hope I can meet you and Sharon. It will be so special to share the experience with your sister. It will be my 2nd half as well. The 1st one was run 3 months after a stress fracture — so I really want to have a much better finish time. The paces for your 11 miler are incredible. Good luck in your next half. I may squeeze in one more before it gets too warm around here. Thanks for linking with us Sherry.

  5. I would say you were all on top of your pace! Great job! Again congratulation on getting in NYC! I told your sister I was excited to see how this training will go for yall. I’ve only got one marathon under my belt too and when I do make the plunge for another one I will also do some things different. Hey, they do say it’s much easier the 2nd time around though! 🙂
