Portland Marathon Training Week 5 – Workouts Recap (7/13-7/19) and Weekend Update

Week 5 of marathon training is in the books. I was a mile short on my long run this week since I was pacing a half marathon and it was so hot out. I’m getting a bit nervous for my long run this week since it’s supposed to be 15 miles, my longest run ever. I’ll be out of town too so I’m not sure how or when I’ll get it in. But here’s what I did last week:

Monday – Cross training day. I did Insanity Max: 30 – Max Out Cardio. It’s been a while since I did that one. Had a great sweat session!Tuesday – Had nice early morning 4 miler.
Wednesday – Ran 7 miles.  Thursday – I did Insanity Asylum Relief. It’s a great stretch routine.
Friday – Ran 7 morning miles.   Saturday – Paced the Oregon Summer Half Marathon.

Sunday – Rest Day.

So for the weekend update, the highlights of the weekend started with pacing the Oregon Summer Half Marathon in St. Paul/Newberg, OR on Saturday. It was a nice location but it was such a warm day out. I’ll have a recap coming soon. Following that, in the evening, we went to our first ever Hillsboro Hops game. The Hillsboro Hops are our local minor league baseball team. It was cool because I won free tickets through our Great Place To Work program at work. Below is a pic of the kiddos and I with the free hats that we got.

The Hillsboro Air Show was going on and we saw the Blue Angels just outside the stadium. It was pretty cool. Here’s a pic of us in our seats before the game started.
Skydivers came down before the game started, which was pretty neat.  I thought we had a great view of the game.    The Hillsboro Hops won the game with the score of 2 to 1 against the Everett AquaSox. Even though it was a hot day out, I enjoyed my first minor league baseball game. The kiddos had fun too.
How’d your weekend go? Do you like baseball? Any races coming up?

I’m linking up with Tara from Running ‘n’ Reading for the Weekend Update.
